I was floored by four words recently.
Four words that were so unthinking and unkind and downright nasty that I don't think I have fully recovered. No, I'm not going to tell you what they were because without a long, drawn out history and without context they don't mean anything. But they meant something to me.
Here's the thing. Moments like this in our lives are sent to us, I think. Sent as reminders of who we don't want to be. Sent as reminders of what is right. Sent as reminders that we should always choose kindness over nasty. Always.
For me, it was also a reminder of why I am putting little painted flowers and hearts with words out into the world.
It's because words matter. Choose them wisely, and kindly.
